We were VERY happy with the cottage. Location, cleanliness, and all the facilities were first class, lots of nice little touches on arrival and views sat at the bottom of the garden with a glass of wine were bliss. Heather and Alan will make you feel at home from the moment you meet them.

Tips:

There are lots of walks in the area, bus stops very close by to Bridport, Lyme Regis, Weymouth. The George is opposite so no driving for a meal. We found a nice drive along the coast road -Bridport, West Bay, Burton Bradstock, Abbotsbury, then on down to Portland Bill

We have just spent a fabulous week at Chideock Cottage, it truly is a home from home. Every thing you could possibly need is provided, which with a ten month old baby was really helpful! The house is cosy and welcoming in a beautiful location. It was easy to find and easy to get to places from. We highly recommend staying and we will hopefully be back soon!

Tips:

We had a lovely time fossil hunting on Charmouth Beach, a good walk up to the top of the hill at Seatown which has spectacular views and quite possibly the best fish and chips ever at Lyme Regis. It really is a lovely part of the country to explore!

We stayed in both cottages during our stay as we asked if we could book an extra night and Greenwich was booked so we moved into Chideock. Both cottages are set in a .beautiful location and sit in lovely gardens which are very well maintained. The cottages are very well furnished and equipped ,very much homes from home. Heather and Alan are extremely good hosts and obviously enjoy what they do. These cottages are very much a year round holiday base and would lend themselves to winter breaks with the woodburner in Greewich and the Aga in Chideock

Tips:

George Inn opposite cottages, good food friendly atmosphere. Short drive to West bay,Good food in Bridport Arms, very friendly landlord. Also visit The Custom House which has both a cafe and is an Aladdin's cave of antiques and collectables. Good walk ,only twenty minutes, to Seatown and then steep walk to Golden Cap from where beautiful views.

Tips:

The George Inn across the road has Pizza nights and serves good food. The Anchor Inn at Seatown is almost on the beach and has a great beer garden where you watch the sun going down with the waves crashing on the shore. Lyme Regis a lovely town and harbour, Charmouth (good for fossils), Bridport town and lots of other well know villages and coastal resorts within reach.

We found the cottage well equipped and comfortable and well situated for discovering the area. We would have given a score of 5 for the location of the cottage but access to the main road was difficult at times due to the heavy traffic passing through the village but we managed ok.

Tips:

The Clock Public house was our favourite place in the village for eating out, the stake and ale pie was excellent and reasonably priced. Lime Regis was a nice place to visit but rather hilly to get down to from the carpark at the top of the cliff especially for the more elderly folk like our selves but we managed ok. We found Beer to be a nice place to visit with interesting small shops. We visited Abbotsbury Subtropical gardens they were out of this world! Best gardens we have been round but of course it was May and a bright hot sunny day. There is a nice café on site also. Portland Bill was a nice area. The Hayloft Café was a great place to have lunch or a snack. Only opened this spring, good food at the right prices. Lots of other places!

A beautiful cottage ideally located to explore the Dorset Coast. Comfortable and cozy with everything you need catered for, an extremely comfortable bed much needed after a days walking and a view from the bedroom window that makes you want to get up and get out. The cottage garden is tranquil and sunny and a peaceful place to relax, with lovely garden furniture and sunloungers in which to relax.

Tips:

The George across the road was lovely, and the pizza night on Thursday is worth going to. The Clock served good pub food and also showed the football (happy husband) and the Anchor Inn at Seatown is also lovely. We travelled into Lyme Regis one evening (not far) and had an excellent Italian Meal at Antonio's Trattoria - traditional home cooked Italian food (not a pizza in sight) which was amazing and we'd highly recommend. The Anchor at Seatown - an easy walk away - is award winning and serves fantastic food. Lewesden Hill near Broadwindsor is great for walking - especially for bluebells. Abbotsbury is well worth a visit - we have done three of the circular walks - all excellent. Excellent accommodation, equipped with everything you might require. We were greeted by the cottage owners on arrival, and given a full tour of facilities

Tips:

Opposite the George Pub in the village, 5 min walk from the Clock House pub, 15 min walk to Seatown, and the Anchor pub. Lyme Regis and Bridport 10 min drives away. Superb walking from the cottage, The Golden Cap, Langdon Woods, and access to the SW Coast path

22nd October 2016:

We had a lovely stay in Greenwich Cottage. Short stroll to Seatown with gorgeous views on the way. Close to Lyme Regis & West Bay which we visited often. The Cottage was beautifully clean with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Felt like home from home. Was just a shame the log burner was playing up as a roaring fire would've made it complete but can't be helped. Great view from the garden. Absolutely exceptional. Thank you.

Tips:

We had pizza on the Thursday evening at the George Inn across the road and it was lovely. Very friendly and accommodating. Very child friendly which is often hard to find. They even had some toys for James to play with. Lovely walks in West Bay across the cliffs and then back onto the beach. Lyme Regis has a great sandy beach for children to play on. Fossil hunting at Charmouth was excellent experience.

12th October 2016:

Greenwich Cottage has a real home from home feeling and is immaculate.

Tips:

The Anchor at Seatown is well worth a visit as is The Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock. Local walk from the cottage up to Golden Cap is a must. Short coastal walks can be done from West Bay and Burton Bradstock. Bridport with it's shops and supermarkets is within easy reach so makes things very easy.

18th September 2016:

A really lovely cottage in a great location. The cottage was very clean, comfortable, family friendly and well equipped. The garden too was lovely. The location is great with lots of beautiful places close by. The road is very busy and can be difficult when trying to pull out the drive, but the cottage is set back far enough that you can't really hear the noise of the road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the cottage helped us to be able to relax.

Tips:

West Bay is good and Racheal's is well worth a visit. Lyme Regis is beautiful. Lots of stunning scenery and places to eat very close by.

10th July 2016:

Lovely cosy cottage with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owners are lovely and made us feel very welcome.

Tips:

Very convenient for the pub, The George is just across the road and is very nice. If you want a short scenic walk to the pub try the Anchor Inn at Seatown, great views from the beer garden! Recommend walking the coast path to West Bay, very scenic walk. Also a trip to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, gorgeous. Lots of beautiful villages nearby to visit. We loved Cerne Abbas and Corfe Castle. All in all a beautiful part of the U.K. To visit.

25th April 2016:

Beautifully appointed cottage with pretty garden equipped with garden furniture. Everything we needed for a relaxing stay in Dorset - great location too.

Tips:

The George opposite the cottage does great food and staff are helpful and friendly. Several walks can be done from the cottage - no need to use the car - ranging, for example, from an easy stroll down to Seatown or a more strenuous climb up Giolden Cap - fantastic views! The Anchor at Seatown also good for food.

Beautifully appointed warm and cosy cottage.....every little thing you could wish for in a self catering cottage was catered for. High quality fixtures and fittings from the linen through to the kitchen utensils. Loved the Aga :-) Lovely garden which would be great to use more in the Summer.
